In years past the summer months have acted as a brief reprieve from new scripted programming and a chance to catch up on series that one missed in previous fall seasons. In the recent several years, however, more and more networks have started to schedule original programming during the period between the end of May sweeps and the beginning of the fall season.
Given that there are many great shows currently airing and even more coming to our TV sets and DVRs over the next few weeks my summer TV catch-up project is smaller than I would have hoped. That being said I've already made a lot of progress. Below is a list of seasons I've been watching since the end of the "official" September to May TV season.
The League season 2
Dr. Who series 6
The Venture Brothers seasons 1 and 2
The Office (UK) series 1
Boardwalk Empire season 1
I'm pretty proud that I've been able to make such good progress and with a little more than two months until the Fall season kicks into high gear I'm hoping to knock off many of the TV Shows on my list.
Speaking of my list...
I'll be posting my full Summer TV Catch-up list tomorrow and plan on updating it as I check off more and more shows. Hopefully this will bring attention to some great television and also keep me on track as far as the catch-up itself is concerned.
